Internet home of Marlin Greene, presenting a new direction using AI graphic generation. The raw material for the images here was created from text prompts typed into an AI computer program. The output of the AI system assembles a collage of parts from a huge database of reference images created by humans and attempts to construct what the text prompt has requested. Most of the collages are a haphazard mishmash requiring correcting and modifying. AI is not blessed with the creative talent of a human artist and would fail without the millions of human-made images it draws from. AI is a cleverly engineered collage assembler of parts—any artistic merit it exhibits is accidental. My images are the result of carefully chosen text instructions and added image enhancements to what's returned by the AI—I still make the creative judgements for the final image. AI is another tool for a new graphic adventure.
